We lack positive role models with diabetes – well in case you haven’t heard, Tom Hanks has been diagnosed with NIDDM and has apparently been partnering with his doctors for 6 years, trying to avoid it.
It’s got to make you more compassionate for yourself when someone with the financial resources to hire a person to cook his meals, the right meals, and make sure he eats at the right times still ends up with a diagnosis.
